The four steps

From the photo to the handover.

This is how you pass something on — or pick something up.

  1. 01

    Take a photo

A good photo of your item makes all the difference. Daylight, neutral background, a real picture.

  2. 02

    Post it

Title, short description, pickup location. Your listing shows up on the map instantly.

  3. 03

    Arrange

Interested people message you through PIKITUP. You coordinate time and place without sharing your phone number.

  4. 04

    Picked up!

Things change hands — free, local and without a detour to the landfill.

For givers

Give away something that's still good.

Moving, decluttering, or simply have too much? Here's how to pass your stuff on in a few minutes.

  • 01

    A photo in daylight

Set the item up so it's clearly visible. Honest photos lead to fewer back-and-forth messages and faster pickups.

  • 02

    Title, description, pickup spot

Short, concrete info: condition, dimensions, whether you can help carry. You share the exact address later in a message.

  • 03

    Wait for messages

Interested people write to you directly in PIKITUP. You never need to hand out your phone number.

  • 04

    Mark as picked up

Once someone takes it, you mark the listing as picked up. Everyone then knows: it's gone.

For takers

Find something near you.

You don't need an account to browse. If you want something, send a short message and pick it up.

  • 01

    Open the map

Allow your location or search for a city. You immediately see what's available near you.

  • 02

    Filter by category

Furniture, books, clothing, electronics — filter by what you're after, or sort by proximity and recency.

  • 03

    Message directly

See something that fits? Send the giver a short message in PIKITUP. No phone numbers, no external apps.

  • 04

    Go pick it up

You arrange a time and place, then pick it up. Transport and timing are on you. First come, first served.
