Tips for a good listing
Pick up items
First come, first served
There are no reservations. If you want something, just go. Still there? Perfect. Already gone? Tough luck, but maybe you'll find the next gem soon.
Mark picked-up items
Picked something up? Mark it as 'Picked up'. This is the most important rule on PIKITUP – so others know they don't have to make a wasted trip.
Be quick and respectful
If you want an item, pick it up promptly. Don't leave rubbish behind. Respect the privacy of the people outside whose house the item is placed.
Only take what you need
Please no hoarding. Leave things for others who may need them more. The goal is for as many people as possible to benefit from PIKITUP.
Photo tips
Good lighting
Daylight is ideal. Avoid backlight and dark corners. The phone flash often makes photos worse.
Multiple angles
Show the whole object, but also details. For furniture: front, side, close-up of any damage.
Document condition
Scratches, stains, chipped edges – show everything honestly. It builds trust and prevents disappointment.
Size comparison
Place something familiar next to it – a book, a bottle, a ruler. Or mention the dimensions in the description.
Safety
Report problems
See an item that violates our rules? Report it using the 'Report' button on the item page.
We review every report and remove items that violate the rules. Repeated violations can lead to exclusion from the service.
